Instagram has started testing clickable links inside post captions, a change that many creators have requested for years. The feature currently appears for users who subscribe to Meta Verified, which means only paying subscribers can add links directly in their captions. If Instagram expands the test later, this update will change how creators share external websites, newsletters, and other content with followers without relying on profile links.
For a long time, Instagram limited link sharing across the platform. Creators usually placed a single link in their bio or used Stories and Reels to direct followers to external pages. Because of those limits, many creators depended on “link in bio” tools that collect several links in one place. With clickable caption links, creators can attach a direct destination inside the post itself, which makes it easier for followers to open a website immediately after reading a caption.
According to blogger Andrea Valeria, Instagram currently allows a limited number of links for this test. She shared screenshots showing that the platform lets creators add up to 10 clickable links per month inside captions.
How Instagram clickable links captions work
The feature appears inside the caption area of a normal Instagram post. When a creator adds a link, followers can tap it directly in the mobile app and open the destination page without leaving the caption area.
However, early reports show some limitations:
- Only available for Meta Verified subscribers
- Creators can add 10 links per month
- Links appear mainly in the mobile app
- Some desktop views still do not show the link
If Instagram expands this test, creators will gain a simpler way to guide followers to newsletters, products, or articles directly from their posts.
