It is not very often that developers opt to update their apps on Windows 10 Mobile, but Facebook happens to be one that is still holding to the platform. Indeed, the company’s Instagram app on Windows 10 Mobile recently picked up some new features, including type mode, and more (via All About Windows Phone.)
This latest update is for mobile only, weighs in at 74MB, and bumps the app on Windows 10 Mobile up to version 41.1760.62502.0. With the new type mode in this version, you can swipe right on your camera and type text on a colorful background in many different types of fonts (seen below.) Also new in this version is the ability for users to send disappearing photos to each other in messages, or allow replays of photos so friends can remix photos and videos with texts and drawings.
Other new features introduced in this version is the ability for users to share Instagram Stories with other people via the app. Users should also see a new stop-motion mode in the camera, the new threaded-style comments interface and some overall UI improvements around the app.
Feel free to head to the Microsoft Store now on your Windows 10 Mobile device to update. But be warned, we tried out these new features and they were a bit buggy compared to the iOS and Android versions of the app.
