Infection game mode may come to Halo: The Master Chief Collection

Gamescom 2015 kicks off tomorrow and the Xbox team has been promising the greatest game lineup in Xbox history, which was announced at E3 in June, will get even greater this week with exclusive news, demos, and interviews.

Polygon spotted on the official Halo blog Halowaypoint that the Halo team couldn’t wait until tomorrow to give a little more information on both Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Halo 5’s development.

The blog states that the Halo MCC’s playlist team is continuing to work on future updates and that they will likely say more about the Infection multiplayer game mode coming to Halo MCC. The infection mode, originally introduced in Halo 3, features a multiplayer game where players are trying to be the last man standing after an infected player tries to eliminate everyone.

The same Halowaypoint blog also includes more information on the results of the Halo Championship Series Season 2 Finals, the new point of view game feature with unique heads up displays for each character in Halo 5, and more information about the mechanics of Warzone game mode in Halo 5.

Stay tuned to WinBeta for more coverage of Xbox news as Gamescom gets underway tomorrow with the Xbox Gamescom 2015 Briefing at 10:00 AM EDT, 7:00 AM PDT.
