Htc's windows phone one (w8) tipped to launch on verizon by september

There have been several rumors of an HTC One running on the Windows Phone. It all started a few weeks ago when prolific leakster, Evleaks revealed such work in progress. Now some more information about its existence have leaked. The device is being called “One (M8) for Windows”, and according to the source, it’s better looking than the HTC One (M8).

So far we have heard that this new handset will have almost identical hardware specifications as HTC One (M8). The company’s signature BoomSound speakers, and depth-sensing Duo camera are tipped to be present in the handset.

We recently learned that Windows Phone 8.1 GDR1 will feature support for voice over LTE support, and the One (W8) for Windows is said to have this feature — although we are not sure if it will be offered out of the box or after the update. Perhaps the launch of this device aligns with or after the release of the Windows Phone 8.1 GDR1 update.

The sources reveal that the handset will launch on (at least) Verizon during the third quarter of 2014. Which means that we can expect the device rolling by the end of September, if not sooner.
