HTC denies rumors about Asus acquisition

Over the weekend, a report from Reuters suggested that ASUS may acquire the struggling Taiwanese maker HTC. No official bid was made by the company, but the company’s chairman made a statement during the shareholder’s meeting hinting at the interest to acquire the Taiwan-based company.

HTC denies all such rumors and say there’s no truth to this report. HTC denies all these claims and said,

We strongly deny the news. We didn’t contact Asusteck and will not consider the acquisition. As an international brand, HTC will continue to design world-class innovative smart devices through its pursuit of brilliance brand promise.

Now, let’s just forget the acquisition rumors and hope that HTC will turn things around as the company is going through a rough patch and declining profits — and yes, they should launch a Windows Phone handset as well.
