How to enable the delete file confirmation dialog in Windows 8 – onmsft.com

For those of you on Windows 8, you may have noticed that when deleting a file, you do not get prompted for confirmation whether or not you want to delete that particular file. For some of us, this may be a bad thing as we may hit delete on the wrong file.

To re-enable the delete file confirmation dialog in Windows 8, simply right-clock on the Recycle Bin and select Properties. Once you are in Properties, simply check-mark “Display Delete Confirmation Dialog” checkbox and you are good to go. This easy fix will help those who want to be prompted with a dialog before sending a file to the Recycle Bin.
