Every month, the folks at AdDuplex release a report which shows how well Windows Phone is performing, the devices with the highest market share (globally and based on specific countries), and much more. Recently, AdDuplex published a new report which lists the top countries for Windows Phone.
The results aren’t as surprising as one would think, but US is the top market for Windows Phone devices with 11 percent market share. India and Brazil are on the second and third spot with 7.5 and 6.9 percent, respectively. It’s also a little surprising to see that China is on the sixth spot with 3.7 percent — it’s a big market Microsoft must target if they want to achieve a high market share globally since it’s one of the biggest smartphones dominated by cheap Android-based handsets. Italy, Germany, France, and the UK also made it to the list of the top 20 countries for Windows Phone.
The chart is based on data from 11 global apps and games that served AdDuplex ads to over 200,000 users on July 8th, so there are chances of discrepancies here, but nonetheless, it gives a rough picture of the countries where Windows Phone is performing well.
“As a ‘workaround,’ this chart is based on data from 11 global apps and games that served AdDuplex ads on the day of July 8th, 2014 (UTC time). These apps served ads to around 200,000 users on that day. The apps were deliberately selected to be as “global” as possible, but the dataset could still be affected by different ad strategies of the app publishers on a country-by-country basis and other factors. We will try to improve on this concept for the future reports,” says AdDuplex in the report.
