The Game Awards 2022 did not disappoint (at least for most of us). It was quite the extravaganza with games, games and more games, not to mention a good helping of onstage cringe and a dash of WTF right at the very end. An absolute glut of games were showcased throughout the event, in between the awards announcements and acceptance speeches, including several world premieres. Let’s break down some of the best highlights from last night’s 3-hour event.

Riot Games coming to Game Pass

Starting December 12th, all Game Pass subscribers will be treated to access to some of the biggest titles from Riot Games including Valorant, League of Legends, Legends of Runeterra and more, as well as unlock benefits. Note that you will need to connect your Riot account to your Game Pass account via the Xbox app on your PC.

Marcus Fenix, Kait Diaz and General RAAM will be the newest members of the Bean Horde with the latest Fall Guys crossover content. They will be available in the in-game Fall Guys Store from December 9 through December 13, so grab them while you can.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor coming to Xbox, pre-orders now open

One of the most anticipated showcases from The Game Awards 2022 was no doubt that for Star Wars: Jedi Survivor. The game is a follow up to Jedi: Fallen Order. The game will release on March 17th, 2023 for Xbox Series X|S. Until then, you can pre-order the game on the Xbox Store to get the Galactic Hero and New Hero cosmetic packs.

Bandai Namco/Amazon Games’ free-to-play multiplayer online action RPG will release for current-gen Xbox consoles sometime next year, bringing its vast world, deep character customization, and team-based roleplaying gameplay. Check out Blue Protocol here.

Replaced comes to Xbox Game Pass in 2023

Following a delay earlier this year, Mad Cat Studios’ Replaced made a triumphant return at The Game Awards 2022 livestreamed last night, with a new trailer and the announcement that the game will release on Xbox Game Pass sometime next year.

Thanks to a completely new rendering model, the game is looking better than ever since first being unveiled at last year’s Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase. This will definitely be one to watch for Game Pass subscribers next year.

Wrap up

The absence of first-party Xbox showcases at The Game Awards 2022 was noticeable to say the least. The rumors we reported on concerning Microsoft’s presence were apparently founded, although Microsoft Gaming boss Phil Spencer was in attendance. Nonetheless, there was plenty to get Xbox fans excited for gaming in 2023 and beyond. Check out The Game Awards 2022 in full directly below.
