Halo: MCC has received a big update on Xbox and PC yesterday to go along with the launch of the game’s Season 7, which brings new customization content, map changes, and more. The new cosmetic content to unlock as part of Season 7 includes new Halo 3 Elite armors, new Halo 3 Energy Sword colors, as well as exclusive Halo 4 weapon skins.

The Custom Game Browser that 343 Industries has been working for quite some time is also going live with this new update, though it’s currently restricted to Halo Reach. With this new feature, players can customize and host their own custom game session or search for other people’s custom games.

There are also several notable multiplayer changes in this update, including a new Halo 3 map named “Edge” and the addition of the Halo 3: ODST and Halo: Reach Firefight game modes in Social matchmaking. The settings for the Halo: CE Hardcore playlist have also been updated better align it with the expectations from the competitive community on Xbox.

This update also brings some visual improvements for Halo: CE to make it look closer to the classic experience on the OG Xbox. For advanced users interested in fine-tuning Halo: CE, new mod tools are also available for the Steam version of the game and you can learn more details on this page.

This latest patch has also fixed several issues with Halo: MCC, including a bug that sometimes caused the game to crash on Xbox consoles why performing background operations. You can check out the full release notes for Halo: MCC’s Season 7 update on the Halowaypoint website.
