While fans of Halo Infinite are eagerly anticipating the arrival of campaign cooperative play – which entered beta earlier this month – there will be one feature missing which might disappoint them when campaign co-op does finally arrive: online matchmaking.

(Gamesradar) Halo Infinite campaign co-op won’t have online matchmaking, Xbox suggests just using Discord

The news was confirmed by an Xbox representative in a statement to GamesRadar+. The statement read,

Online matchmaking will not be available with final co-op. We encourage you to continue to use the Halo LFG and the new Discord voice call feature on Xbox to find players to party up with as you continue playing the beta.

The new Discord voice chat feature alluded to in the statement is also currently in beta testing, with the full public release on hold while the team works through a few issues with its implementation. When it does get a public release, Discord voice chat on Xbox will provide a workable alternative to online matchmaking.
