The next instalment in the Halo series will be making its way to Xbox One in the not-too-distant future. 343 Industries has confirmed that Halo 5: Guardians will be making its way to the console in fall of 2015. Bonnie Ross, General Manager, 343 Industries said that the next version of the game “is a bigger effort than Halo 4” and that more will be revealed at the Xbox E3 2014 Media Briefing on June 9.

\

Saying that “Halo isn’t simply a perennial game franchise, it’s a part of the Xbox platform itself”, Ross says that Halo 5 will take “full advantage of the Xbox One’s hardware and ecosystem to create worlds and experiences worthy of next-gen”.

\

This is a game that is going to be built from the ground up and is being described as a ” massive and exciting project”.

\

“It’s a game that will hopefully demonstrate the talent, learnings and abilities of the 343 Industries team. A game that will incorporate the things we learned from Halo 4 about technology, aesthetics, performance and scale — and perhaps more importantly, understanding and embracing a community of gamers who love what lies at the heart of this game, and the limitless potential of the Halo universe.”

The revelation was made by Major Nelson on his blog as well as via Twitter:

This is a going to be a big year for the Halo franchise as the Steven Spielberg headed television series airs, but it is the game itself that will be the crowning glory.

Is this a game you’re looking forward to getting your hands on?
