Grand Theft Auto San Andreas for Windows Phone 8 arriving next month

The hit game Grand Theft Auto San Andreas is about to go mobile. Rockstar Games, the developers behind the hit game, have announced the availability of the mobile game on various platforms including Microsoft’s own Windows Phone 8. This game is set to arrive in December.

“Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas also features brand new touch controls including contextual control options to display buttons only when you need them and three different control schemes for driving and maneuvering, as well as a reworked checkpoint system for easier progression,” Rockstar Games stated in an official press release.

The game has been remastered to work on mobile devices, including newly remastered graphics with dynamic and detailed shadows, greater draw distance, and enriched color palette. The game also features enhanced character and car models. Rockstar Games is touting the game as “the best-looking version of San Andreas yet.”

GTA San Andreas was originally released in 2004 for PS2, and subsequently released for the Xbox and PC in 2005. No word on exactly when in December we will be able to download the game, so stay tuned! Are you looking forward to playing this game on your Windows Phone device?

Thanks for the tip, Jason!
