Google Stadia to support 19 new smartphones from Samsung, Razer, and Asus

Stadia users who don’t own a Pixel-branded phone will soon be able to stream their games on more devices. The Stadia team announced that they’re bringing support for the app to 19 new phones, ranging from the S8/Note8 series all the way to the S20 series from Samsung, plus the Asus GOG and Razer phones.

The game streaming service will become available on these devices on February 20, joining the Pixel 2, 3, and 4 devices that were supported at launch. Here’s the full list of newly supported devices:

  • Samsung Galaxy S8
  • Samsung Galaxy S8+
  • Samsung Galaxy S8 Active
  • Samsung Galaxy Note8
  • Samsung Galaxy S9
  • Samsung Galaxy S9+
  • Samsung Galaxy Note9
  • Samsung Galaxy S10
  • Samsung Galaxy S10E
  • Samsung Galaxy S10+
  • Samsung Galaxy Note10
  • Samsung Galaxy Note10+
  • Samsung Galaxy S20
  • Samsung Galaxy S20+
  • Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra
  • Razer Phone
  • Razer Phone 2
  • ASUS ROG Phone
  • ASUS ROG Phone II

Google launched Stadia in November for desktop users (via Chrome), Pixel, and Chromecast Ultra devices, and at present has a catalog of 42 titles purchasable from the store. Microsoft’s competing service, Project xCloud, seems to be ahead of Google’s, with twice the catalog of games (which are free-to-play during the public beta). It also works on a much larger range of Android devices, and more recently, iOS for those (for now) who enjoy Halo.

In any case, it’ll be interesting to see which service takes the lead in the long run. I’ve already voiced my opinion, but we’d like to hear yours. Feel free to share you thoughts in the comments area below.
