Fans of the Gears of War series will soon get the opportunity to taste and also shape the experience that Gears of War 4 has to offer. Today, the team over at Xbox has announced that a multiplayer beta experience for the Gears of War 4 title is set to open on April 18th.
Gamers who have played Gears of War: Ultimate Edition for Windows 10 or Xbox One will begin to receive tokens in waves for early access to the beta. At the completion of the early access on April 24, select regular Xbox Gold Members will then get invited to join the open beta until it ends on May 1. Tokens for this beta will be distributed in waves through the Xbox Live messaging system and will begin arriving on Monday April 18th.
Accordingly, the timeframe to qualify for the Gears of War 4 Beta has been extended to give you a bigger opportunity to join in early. To qualify, you just need to log on to Xbox Live and play Gears of War Ultimate Edition on Xbox One or Windows 10 by April 11th 11pm PDT.
If you’re in the Boston area for PAX East, you can also check out Gears of War 4 at the Xbox Booth. There you will be treated to Gears of War 4 Versus multiplayer.
Those not in the area can instead tune into the Gears of War Twitch channel to watch the best of Gears of War ESL Pro teams square off for the championship and a $60,000 prize. During that stream, a new competitive game mode for Gears of War 4 will also be released. In addition, those watching at home will get special instructions on how to get the Season 2 Finals weapon skin and also details on how to enter for a chance to win a limited edition custom Gears of War 4.
