Games with Gold promotion may soon arrive on the Xbox One, says Phil Spencer

Xbox One owners might be getting some good news very soon. The Games with Gold promotion, which is currently available on Xbox 360, may arrive on Xbox One very soon. When inquired about the promotion’s arrival on the new Xbox One, Microsoft Studios executive Phil Spencer said, “Answer to this will be coming fairly soon.”

So how long do we have to wait for the news? Well, Phil made it clear that it isn’t coming this week for sure. Last November, Microsoft had announced that it will be extending the Gold feature to Xbox One, but there hasn’t been any further development on that story.

For those that do not know, Games with Gold currently offers Xbox 360 owners who have an Xbox Live Gold membership the opportunity to get two free games per month. Microsoft mentioned back in November of last year that this promotion would eventually be extended to the Xbox One, sometime this year. Looks like the wait might soon be over.

This month’s free game include Dead Island and Toy Soldier, as part of the Games with Gold promotion for those with Xbox Live Gold memberships. Who can say no to some free games?
