Gameloft's Modern Combat 5 Blackout now available for Windows 8.1

Gameloft, a popular French mobile video game developer and publisher, recently revealed that the highly-anticipated Modern Combat 5 Blackout game would arrive for both Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8. The game was made available for Windows Phone yesterday, and now Gameloft’s latest title is available for Windows 8.1.

Blackout is the new title in the successful military shooter, Modern Combat — which is often considered as the “Call of Duty” for smartphones. The publisher claims that with the new installment, they are bringing console-like graphics to mobile handsets. The title also sees new Spec Ops missions as well as special weapons like scout drones.

Missions are intended to be shorter in Blackout, and the game is primarily a first person shooter. Missions also include controlling turrets on boats, helicopters, and even drones. The game also introduces allies, who follow you along missions and even join you in battle. These allies can also revive you the first time you die during a campaign mission.

“Step into the action as the latest installment in the best FPS series raises the bar for shooter games once more! Create a squad, add your friends and test your individual and team skills against other squads! Is single player your thing? Then step into a world on the brink of anarchy and shoot your way out of one dire situation after another to expose a lunatic who’s trying to tear the world to shreds,” the game description reads.

The game runs for $6.99 and you can snag it via the download link below. The game requires a touch input device.
