Foursquare app for Windows 8.1 gets a visual refresh and new features in latest update

Foursquare has rolled out an updated app for Windows 8.1, offering a visual refresh of the interface to match the new look given to the Windows Phone app. The update also adds several new features which are sure to please Foursquare users.

“The new Foursquare for Windows 8.1 learns what you like and leads you to places you’ll love. With a design custom built for larger screens, discovering great places wherever you are in the world has never been easier,” the app description reads. Here are the new features of the app:

  • All-new look and feel to match the latest Foursquare branding
  • New and improved “Follow-model” approach – see other people’s suggestions without sharing your location
  • Calendar events – create geo-tagged Calendar events within the Foursquare app
  • People to follow nearby – suggested experts in your area to improve recommendations
