Forza Motorsport could be headed for a summer release

Forza Motorsport may be revving up for a summer launch, according to a recent social media post. The May 2 post came from the official Microsoft Game Dev Twitter account and Turn 10 boss Alan Hartman.

The post reads “Who else is ready for summer?,” and features a car emoji. Hartman responds “Come on Sunshine!!” with the Forza hashtag and what appears to be a screenshot from the new Forza game featuring a Ford GT sports car.

All of this certainly appears as though the team might be hinting at a release sometime during the summer season. Forza Motorsport was originally (strongly) suggested as coming out in the spring, though no official release date was ever set.

Not long ago we reported that the team at Turn 10 Studios said Forza Motorsport was still on track for a 2023 release in the Forza Community Hub blog. Other than that, no release date was alluded to at that time in late April.

If the potential summer release is indeed the target, then we’ll almost certainly hear something about it during the upcoming Xbox Games Showcase/Starfield Direct double feature livestream on June 11. While a  Hi-Fi Rush-style shadow drop seems unlikely, we could possibly get a demo of the game at that time to go along with a release announcement.
