Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 5: Zero Point promises players story, quests, new skins, and Grogu

After the epic Chapter 2 Season 4: Nexus War finale this morning that attracted a record breaking 15 million players, Fortnite’s next season of content, Chapter 2 Season 5: Nexus Point, has now launched on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and all other supported platforms.

Unlike recent seasons which have been very light on story, Season 5 appears to be diving head-first into exploring the popular game’s lore with the return of Jonesy in a prominent role and a strong focus on the Nexus Point, the source of the dimensional rifts that has been a part of Fortnite since the early seasons.

A special Story trailer was released that not only features a heavy dose of voice acting (something very rare for Fortnite) but also makes reference to The Seven and The Loop, two bits of Fortnite lore that have been hinted at and teased for a while now. It really feels like Fortnite may finally be giving its loyal players the mythology they’ve been asking for.

Here’s the Story trailer:

In addition to the new story content, Season 5 also brings some changes to the map from the previous season and several new locations. There’s also several new game mechanics, such as NPC quests, and the launch of a new Battle Pass with several new featured outfits/skins and items to unlock.

Included in the Season 5 Battle Pass is Din Djarin and Grogu from The Mandalorian though they probably won’t be a surprise for that many people given that they were recently revealed via a leaked image.
