Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 4 Starts Next Week And Could Include Marvel’s Thor, Wolverine, Galactus, And More – onmsft.com

The fourth season of Fortnite’s second chapter is set to launch this time next week and, as expected, a number of leaks pertaining to its theme and contents have begun to make their way online.

The primary leaks come from Twitter user, HYPEX, who has been fairly reliable in the past when it comes to getting trust-worthy tips from Epic Games insiders and collecting data from the popular video game’s files. He claims that this upcoming season of Fortnite will likely feature Thor and Mjolnir as featured items and that the season as a whole could have a strong Marvel Comics presence.

I’ve seen some of you guess this already, but yeah Season 4 *MIGHT* be Marvel themed, and Thor & his hammer are gonna be cosmetics (this is via my source)

Also the trailer might start with a girl cornered in some alleyway by armed skins and she gets saved.

Thor coming to Fortnite wouldn’t be too much of a surprise as the character was teased via the use of the Bifrost teleportation in the recent trailer for the Captain America content that was added on July 4th. An entire season dedicated to Marvel characters? That would be a first for the game.

Fortnite Chapter 2 has been doing a bit of a tag team with comic book characters recently. Chapter 2 Season 2 added Deadpool as a Battle Pass character and also added an entire location inspired by him. Chapter 2 Season 3 in turn featured DC’s Aquaman as a premium Battle Pass character. Both of these seasons primarily focused on regular Fortnite skins and items in their respective Battle Passes though, however, additional Marvel and DC characters were added to the in-game store for limited periods of time during each season.

HYPEX also claims that a Wolverine skin has been talked about internally at Epic Games and that an in-game comic, which has apparently begun appearing for some players ahead of Season 4, has been spotted featuring images of both Thor and Galactus.

Remember the Comic Books thing i told you about? well.. some people on console are seeing a comic book in their Battle Pass menu.. this should appear for everyone in the upcoming days/weeks as a teaser for *something*!

It should be noted that Fortnite has also begun a bit of a cross-promotion with the Marvel’s Avengers video game this week by rewarding players with Fortnite axes inspired by the Hulkbuster and the Hulk. Given that that game launches in the first week of September, just a few days after Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 4 begins, these rumored Marvel items could be part of a much larger promotional push by Disney to really give the Marvel brand a boost on multiple platforms all at once. It could also be a rather ambitious promotion for the Marvel Avengers game itself.

If players can expect an entire Battle Pass based on Marvel properties, this could be a way for Sony to regain some goodwill with gamers by letting Epic Games add Spider-Man to the roster of unlockable characters after locking the character to the PS4 and PS5 versions of Avengers. It’ll also be interesting to see if there’s any overlap between the Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 4 roster of Marvel characters and the leaked Marvel Avenger’s characters that includes favorites such as Quake, Doctor Strange, and Scarlet Witch.

Galactus’ inclusion does suggest that some Fantastic Four characters may appear and with the addition of surfing gliders in Chapter 2 Season 1, the Silver Surfer could be a natural fit. Personally I’m hoping we get some surprises such as Gambit, Iron Fist, and Daredevil.

In addition to all of this potential Marvel content, some new fish will also be coming to Fortnite with the next season. Here’s a preview of them all:

Who would you like to see in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 4? Does an entire season of Marvel content excite you or are you frustrated by this level of promotion? Will Apple and Google let everyone play Fortnite on their smartphones and tablets by next week?
