Flixter and GroupMe apps for Windows Phone 8 receive new features in latest update

Two new app updates are available for Windows Phone 8 users, including the Flixter app and GroupMe app. Both app updates feature more than just bug fixes, as they bring along with them some new features.

“Movies by Flixster and Rotten Tomatoes, the top movie app to watch movie trailers, find showtimes, and get critic reviews, is now on Windows Phone!” the Flixter app description reads. The new update for the Flixter app allows you to set movie posters as your lock screen background, along with the ability to use voice command features. For example, you can control the Flixter app from your Start screen by saying “Flixter show me top movies.”

“GroupMe is the best way to chat with everyone you know. It’s absolutely free, whether you’re talking to a group of friends, or texting with one person. Best of all, it works on nearly every phone, via push or SMS. With GroupMe, it’s easy to reach anyone, anytime, anywhere. On GroupMe, you can catch up with your family, get a group together for a night out, coordinate with co-workers, or just gossip with a few of your closest friends,” the GroupMe app description reads.

In the GroupMe app update, you can now copy messages, view previously sent messages while offline, and see muted group members. The app now has improved message delivery, a faster startup time, and various bug fixes.

You can snag both apps via the download links below.

Thanks for the tips, @WPScoops!
