Flipboard for Windows Phone updated, now supports pinning favorites on the start screen and more

Flipboard was one of the more anticipated apps for Windows Phone, and now that it has been released, it’s nice to see it get steady updates. The latest update allows you to pin your favorite sections and magazines to your Windows Phone Start screen. You can also now like any article, photo gallery or video from the App Bar. Lastly, it includes improvements in video playback in articles, and other bug fixes and performance improvements.

One complaint users seem to be having is that Flipboard on Windows Phone doesn’t … flip. While we are not quite sure why that’s the case, especially as the animation would fit very nicely into the Windows Phone design, it not a deal breaker by any means.

When I asked Michael, our Managing Editor, how he felt about Flipboard missing its iconic flip animation, he replied, “Uhh… indifferent? I wish Flipboard had included it because it is beautiful, but it hasn’t affected my overall user experience.” So there you have it, we highly recommend ignoring the initial reaction and trying the app thoroughly before reacting (download link below).
