Flipboard for windows 8. 1

After being announced at Microsoft’s annual BUILD developer conference, Flipboard is now ready to launch its Windows 8.1 app. The app was announced alongside Facebook back in June, and it appears a Windows Phone version is also in the works, but don’t expect to see that version anytime soon.

Flipboard will be available for all Windows 8.1 and Windows RT 8.1 users via the Windows Store at some point today. It will support Live Tiles and Snap capabilities, much like normal Windows 8.1 apps do. The Live Tile will display the latest stories directly on your Start Screen, which is so convenient!

The actual app itself is pretty similar to its iOS and Android counterparts. You can browse stories, feeds, and add your own feeds via your Flipboard account.

Flipboard is also working on a Windows Phone version, but we’re not expecting that to launch anytime soon as it isn’t finished yet. Flipboard says the Windows 8.1 app will be available at 7PM ET via the Windows Store, so keep checking there!
