As earlier reported, it was discovered that Windows 11’s Snipping Tool was affected by a major security flaw that made it possible for attackers to retrieve vital information cropped out of screenshots.
However, Microsoft has now issued a fix for the problem. The company is currently rolling out a new version to Windows Insiders, upping it to version 11.2302.20.0. The update doesn’t ship with any new features, just the fix for the privacy flaw.
I am not a security expert by any means but it seems like Snipping Tool 11.2302.20.0 fixes this.
Please correct me if this is not the case! https://t.co/qMgFXw6lGk

If you’re not part of the Canary Channel, you’ll not be able to access this new update. Instead, the Microsoft Store will show that version 11.2302.4.0 is the most current version.
Microsoft should roll out the update to general availability soon. In related news, the Snipping Tool’s screen record feature could get its own dedicated keyboard shortcut soon.
