First IP68-rated rugged Windows 10 tablet coming from Juniper Systems – onmsft.com

Juniper Systems is a company that specializes in providing ultra-rugged field solutions. Ranging from rugged laptops, data collection devices and tablets, they create devices capable of withstanding extreme outdoor conditions, while being reliable and fast performers.

Today, Juniper Systems has announced their latest entry in their ultra-rugged tablet category, called the Mesa 2 Rugged Tablet. This tablet provides a full Windows 10 operating in a 7-inch body, paired with an extremely durable outer shell. The Mesa 2 is MIL-STD-810G rated for water, humidity, sand, dust, vibration, altitude, shock, and temperature. Meaning it can handle whatever nature throws your way and is completely sealed even with ports (USB, 3.5mm) in use. Its also equipped with a best-in-class screen called IllumiView. This provides users with great visibility in any lighting conditions and is chemical covered with scratch resistant material on its Dragontrail glass touchscreen.

Operating for 8-10 hours, users can expect a full days use of work. Available for those longer days or nights, is a extended battery pack from Juniper Systems, which adds an additional 4-5 hours of battery life. If that isn’t enough swappable packs are available to continue your work flow.

Shipping the first quarter of 2016, the Mesa 2 Rugged Tablet, provides customers with the full power of Windows 10, Intel Quad-core processors, IP68-rated durability and the portability of a 7-inch tablet.
