First Disney & Marvel Games Showcase announced for September – onmsft.com

Disney today announced the first ever Disney & Marvel Games Showcase, a live event designed to promote and announce upcoming video games based on Disney-owned franchises.

Disney Dreamlight Valley, Marvel’s Midnight Suns, and LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga are confirmed to make an appearance during the Games Showcase though it’s unclear if each will just get a new trailer or some major news will be dropped.

“The digital showcase will feature incredible new content from Disney & Pixar Games, Marvel Games, Lucasfilm Games, and 20th Century Games,” the official announcement reads. “In addition to all-new announcements, fans can expect new reveals from titles including Disney Dreamlight Valley, Marvel’s Midnight Suns, and LEGO® Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, as well as a sneak peek at an upcoming Marvel ensemble game from Skydance New Media.”

Given that all of the confirmed DLC packs for LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga have been released, it’s likely that more DLC packs could be announced, possibly inspired by recent Disney+ series like The Book of Boba Fett and Obi-Wan or the upcoming Andor and The Mandalorian Season 3.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns was recently delayed so it could get some more content reveals to help keep fans hyped. Disney Dreamlight Valley is set for release on Windows PC and consoles on September 6th, just three days before the Games Showcase on the 9th, so will likely get a major promotional push.

The “upcoming Marvel ensemble game” mentioned in the announcement is rather curious though recent speculation points strongly at it being a new Fantastic Four video game.

Some news on the recently delayed Avatar game is also expected.

The Disney & Marvel Games Showcase will begin on Friday, September 9th at 1 PM PT/4 PM ET during the D23 expo and will be streamed on Disney, D23, and Marvel YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, and Twitch accounts.
