Bandai Namco and FromSoftware have announced a forthcoming expansion to their smash hit action-RPG Elden Ring. The announcement comes just a few days after the game’s anniversary celebration.

The expansion is to be titled “Shadow of the Erdtree.” Other than that, no details or release date were given, though the post does state that the expansion “is currently in development.”

As we reported last week, Elden Ring just surpassed the 20 million copies sold milestone. The soulslike role playing game was directed by Dark Souls creator Hidetaka Miyazaki, with fantasy author George R.R. Martin providing the worldbuilding and lore. Elden Ring garnered the lion’s share of accolades in 2022, winning various “Game of the Year” honors including at The Game Awards 2022.
