Could Star Wars Day keep delivering good news to Star Wars fans? EA just announced today that it is working with Titanfall developer Respawn Entertainment on an “all-new 3rd person action adventure game set in the Star Wars universe.” While Respawn Entertainment previously announced that it was working on a sequel to Xbox exclusive title TitanFall, the game studio will now join other EA studios which are are currently working on Star Wars projects such as Visceral Games, DICE, Capital Games, BioWare, Motive and more.

Executive Vice President of EA Studios Patrick Söderlund shared on the company’s official blog:

Over the past few years, I’ve had the opportunity to spend a lot of time with Vince Zampella and his group. Their obsession with making games that feel amazing has helped make Titanfall one of the most successful new game launches of this generation. And now, with a new team led by Stig Asmussen, we get to see what they can do when you combine that great attention to gameplay with the power of Star Wars.

While EA and Respawn Entertainment have yet to share more details about the upcoming Star Wars game, Stig Asmussen from Respawn Entertainment shared some strong words on the Respawn blog:

We promise to pay respect to the Star Wars legacy at all times, a fact that will be constantly reinforced and honored as a central game design tenet.  Fans should expect the exemplary level of quality first established at Respawn with Titanfall, a game that epitomizes our studio’s dedication to slick, larger-than-life action and fun, groundbreaking mechanics.

Last, Star Wars fans may want to have a look at job openings at Respawn Entertainment and other EA Studios currently working on Star Wars games such as Visceral and Motive, may the force be with you if you give it a shot! Please tell us in the comments if you’re excited by this upcoming Star Wars game.
