Dev reportedly gets Windows 10 on ARM running on Lumia device

As you already know, Microsoft has confirmed that there will be no further development on Windows 10 Mobile and the platform is dead. However, there are still some highly-skilled developers who are also Windows Phone fans that are not giving up so easily. As noted by a report on Softpedia, @Hikari_Calyx has posted some pretty convincing evidence on Twitter of Windows 10 on ARM on full display on a Lumia prototype.

The Lumia prototype in question appears to be the “Nokia Hapanero,” an unreleased version of the Lumia 950 that Microsoft presented at Build 2015. Interestingly enough, @Hikari_Calyx was the one responsible for the leaked photos of the Nokia Hapanero device.  Judging by the clips on Twitter, if this is in fact Windows 10 on ARM and all features will be useable on Lumia devices, such as the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL, this could be great news for Windows Phone fans.

@Hikari_Calyx reassures us “It’s neither remote desktop nor playing video on this phone, I promise.”

While there are some die-hard Windows Phone fans holding out for a possible Surface Phone on the horizon, this might be their only hope. The more likely scenario is Microsoft will release an “Andromeda” device with Windows Polaris or focus on Progressive Web Apps (PWA) instead.
