Destiny

The highly anticipated sci-fi shooter game Destiny from Bungie, the developer behind Halo, managed to generate a whopping $325 million in sales globally in its first five days — the game officially launched on September 9th. It turns out to be yet another extremely popular game from Bungie, with the players logging in 100 million hours of play, and participated in 137 million activities in the first week, which is totally impressive.

“Destiny fans played more than 100 million hours of the game in the first week. That’s on par with the engagement levels of our most popular Call of Duty games, which obviously is an industry leader,” said Eric Hirshberg, CEO, Activision Publishing. “Millions of gamers are having a great time playing Destiny and can’t put down their controllers. And this is just the beginning. Destiny is a platform that will grow and evolve and we will continue to work closely with our partners at Bungie to bring a long line of new experiences and content to life in the game.”

The game is available on all major consoles, including Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. The developer released a combined number, and didn’t reveal how many games were sold for each console, which totally makes sense since it’s all about the sales. As long as gamers are interested in purchasing the title, it doesn’t really matter which one they choose.

Did you give Destiny a run on your console? If yes, let us know about your experience using the comments below.
