Dell has unveiled new Inspiron models aimed at a wide range of customers and budgets at the annual Computex event, announces the Windows Blog.
The Inspiron line has traditionally been Dell’s entry level laptop series in the vein of HP Pavilion or Acer Aspire; as such, buyers can expect thinness, lightness, and most importantly, cheapness as the focus instead of processing power and disc speed. The new models, of course, follow this tradition, with one exception: most of them are also 2-in-1s – transformable laptops with touch screens, joining the new emerging breed of devices that fully adopts Microsoft’s innovations in operating systems.

For this year’s Computex, users looking for a first touchable laptop, or those without the need for much computing chops are introduced to the Inspiron 11 3000, Inspiron 5000, and Inspiron 7000. The first option, Inspiron 11 3000, coming at only 11.6-inch screen size, is the most affordable at a $249 starting price, for which you will get a bevy of color options, up to an Intel Core m3, HD screen (not FHD), SSDs and USB 3.0.

Moving to the Inspiron 5000, Dell reduces color choices to metallic grey, but ups the available screen sizes to 13 and 15 inches, while also introducing 16GB of dual-channel DDR4 RAM as an option; initial price, of course, get ramps up to $529. The biggest-numbered 7000 is also the most advanced and also most expensive, starting at $729, with Intel Skylake processors and SSDs powering a Full HD screen of up to 17 inches , infrared camera for Windows Hello, and USB Type C. All of these models will be available starting June 2 on Dell.com in the United States and China.

Besides the new 2-in-1s, Dell also introduces two new touch-screen laptops to the Inspiron line: the Dell Inspiron 15 and 17 5000, which are both as powerful as the Inspiron 17, with only a lack of the 360-degree hinge a 13-inch option, and more color choices for the differences. There is not yet information on the pricing for these models, only that they will be available globally later in the year.
