Red

Feeling a little bored, and want something to pass your time? Take a look at Red, a shooter game for Windows 8.1 where your task is to save the city from mutants and other insane creatures, using a bunch of weapons, power-ups and other abilities. The game doesn’t come with very good graphics, but as I said, it’s not something you could play all the time, but a game to help you kill some time.

You get to unlock stuff and upgrade your weapons as you move on with the game. There’s a story mode as well, where you play as Rick Steele and follow an illustrated story on why the city is under havoc, and what role you play.

“Feeling angry? RED is the ultimate dual stick shooter – visceral, vibrant and filled to the brim with unlockables! Take the role of Rick Steele as he battles an invasion of mutants in the city. Using a variety of powerups, abilities and weapons, he will need to fend off hordes of disgusting and furious creatures dead set on consuming everything and everyone in their sight,” the app description reads.

Here are the feature set it brings on the table:

  • Classic dual-stick shooting action
  • Hordes of enemies
  • A hilarious illustrated story
  • Unique player abilities
  • Special bonuses like the powerful Bio-Shield
  • Competitive leaderboards

Head over to the Windows Store to grab the game, it offers users with a free trial to try out the game, and pay for it if they find it good enough — it costs $2.99. Best of all, it’s a universal game, which means that if you pay for Windows version, you can grab the Windows Phone version for free and vice versa.
