Customize your Xbox Elite controller functions with Xbox Accessories app

We recently discovered button remapping will be coming to all Xbox One controllers and not just for the Elite setups. However, some of you may be wondering how will you be able to go about customizing your Xbox One Elite controllers’ configurations? Navin Kumar from the Xbox team released a YouTube video a short time ago, detailing all the customization options available for the Xbox One Elite Wireless Controller through the Xbox One Accessories app.

Kumar describes how you can configure the Elite controller for games like Halo 5 Guardians and Forza Motorsport 6, as well as change 255 other customizable options.

“Adjust trigger min/max values, thumbstick sensitivities, button assignments, and more, so the controls are exactly the way you want them. Assign any of 14 inputs to the ABXY buttons, paddles, D-pad, triggers, and thumbstick clicks.  Create as many controller profiles as you like in the app and have tailored settings for any game. Load two profiles on the controller and instantly change between them with the built-in Profile Switch. The possibilities are virtually limitless.”

The Elite Controller allows for up to two different button layouts that you can switch between while playing one game versus another. Kumar explains his use of the Elite controller and how he uses two different button configurations when he is playing Call of Duty Advanced Warfare. Kumar further details how it helps him when he is playing with pistols or with sniper rifles and how he can change the thumbstick sensitivities to match his gameplay.
Once the Xbox One Elite Controller is released on October 27, same day as Halo 5 Guardians, these customization options will be available through the Xbox Accessories app on your Xbox One and your Windows 10 device.
