The curious case of Surface Mini: Portfolio Case from VSTN suggests it will arrive soon

Microsoft has yet to unveil a Surface Mini, a smaller device that has been circulating the rumor mills for quite some time now. A listing on Amazon was brought to our attention today, showcasing a portfolio case for a Surface Mini device. The accessory apparently ships May 18, 2014.

The case features a detachable Bluetooth keyboard stand case and cover, and apparently only works on a Surface Mini. “Fantastic looking case for your precious Microsoft Surface Mini tablet. There are plenty of cases out there but this is built to last with style. Made of premium PU leather, this flip case will wear well and maintain the look of your device. Design allows for full access to touch screen, side buttons, charging & headset ports and camera. Well built to protect your Microsoft Surface Mini tablet for the years to come,” the product description reads.

Microsoft has yet to announce or unveil a Surface Mini device, but accessory makers tend to get their products up and ready in advance. In fact, the accessory maker VSTN has quite a few accessories for the Surface Mini listed on Amazon. A suggested availability date of May 18th means that a Surface Mini might be right around the corner, but then again it could just be a mistake or an error in the listing. Either way, we’ll keep you posted and we suggest you don’t get your hopes up until there is concrete information.

Thanks for the tip, Alan.
