Control your Roku player over your home network in the official Roku app for Windows 8.1

Roku is a streaming media player that features tons of content sources and amazing performance. If you own a Roku device, you can now download the official Roku app for Windows 8.1 and control your player over your home network.

“Roku makes it easy to enjoy the hottest movies, TV shows, music, games and more on your TV. Millions of people use their Roku players every day to watch their favorite entertainment instantly and on demand,” the product description states.

The official app lets you automatically detect all Roku players on your local network. The app also lets you view intalled Roku channels and launch the channel with a tap. You can also control your Roku player with an on-screen remote control. How cool is that?

If you own a Roku device and a Windows 8.1 tablet, this app is the perfect compliment to your streaming experience. This is the initial release of the app and we hope Roku keeps up with it with improvements and updates. Grab the app via the download link below. It’s free!

Update: the app is also available for Windows Phone! Grab it via the download link below.
