Classic Rockstar Games thriller L.A. Noire coming to Xbox with One X enhancements

L.A. Noire, the critically-acclaimed detective thriller game from Rockstar Games, will be re-released on the Xbox One on November 14. The remastered game will include all previous DLC and come with various visual enhancements: it will run in native Full HD resolution on the Xbox One and in 4K on the Xbox One X, and you can also expect “updated weather, smog and lighting effects for a more realistic Los Angeles,” explained the Xbox team.

The game was originally released on 7th gen consoles and Windows back in 2011, and it tells the story of a newly minted detective investigating a series of murders in L.A. during the 1940s. The game did not receive the same amount of success as Grand Theft Auto IV or Red Dead Redemption, but it was praised for its storytelling and rich neo-noir universe.

With the exception of GTA V, Rockstar Games usually doesn’t do remaster of old titles (both GTA IV and Red Dead Redemption are backward compatible on the Xbox One, as an example), but L.A. Noire will also be released on the Playstation 4 and Nintendo Switch in November. In addition, a special version of the game called L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files is coming for the HTC Vive. No word on pricing yet, but you can learn more about the different remastered editions on Rockstar Games’ website.
