Check out Cover and Toastache apps for Windows 8.1, two new apps available now

Check out these two new apps available now in the Windows Store. The first app is called Cover and is a great app for reading comic books. The second app is called Toastache and the premise behind this app is helping Mr. Toastache travel without becoming toast!

“Cover, the best Windows app to read and manage your comic books. The Walking Dead, Batman, X-Men, Largo Winch, Asterix, Naruto, One Piece, … Enjoy your whole library, wherever you are. Cover handles the most common file types such as CBR, CBZ, PDF, EPUB, etc,” the app description reads.

Cover lets you manage your comic books on Windows 8.1 in a beautiful interface. The app is mapped to the folders and files on your device or network and all you need to do is specify the folder or folders that contain your comic books. Cover will update automatically whenever a comic book is added or removed. Here are the key features of this app:

  • Comic book management with shelves (folders), read/unread, page count, current page, etc..
  • Add folders to the library or open standalone files
  • Reference and synchronize network paths
  • Supported file types: CBZ/ZIP, CBR/RAR, 7Z/CB7, PDF, EPUB
  • Supported image types: JPEG, PNG, GIF, BMP
  • In-app purchase to unlock unlimited library
  • Open files directly from Windows explorer
  • Indexed library for quick Windows search
  • Customizable page layout : single or dual page, fit width/height/page
  • Pinch zoom, swipe et tap supportés en lecture
  • left-to-right or right-to-left reading (aka Manga mode)
  • Change page background color

On the other hand, we have Toastache. This is a fun little game that involves a piece of toast with a mustache traveling and collecting butter along the way.

“Help Mr Toastache on his travels in this fun, yet simple game. How far can you get before Mr Toastache becomes toast? Collect the butter fuel as you jump along – this can then be used to activate your rockets and fly. Collecting butter also helps increase your final score. Can you make it on the highscore list?” the app description reads.

Both apps are free and available now in the Windows Store. Hit the download links below to check them out.
