At CES 2018 today, Lenovo revealed their new upcoming ThinkPad X1 models. The company is introducing innovations in displays, privacy, and connectivity to the X1 series in 2018, and is also giving users more touchscreen options. All of the devices are bloatware free, coming with Lenovo “Crystal” Windows 10 software pre-loaded. Here’s a look at the newest Lenovo ThinkPad X1 models announced at CES 2018, all wrapped up in one post for your convenience.
ThinkPad X1 Carbon 6th Gen and ThinkPad X1 Yoga 3rd Gen:
The ThinkPad X1 Carbon and the ThinkPad X1 Yoga, are the world’s first laptops to support Dolby Vision HDR. This means the display boasts 100 percent Adobe RGB color gamut and supports up to 500 NITS peak brightness.
Users of the devices can expect greater brightness and contrast, as well as a fuller palette of rich colors. Other features on both the devices include the ThinkPad Shutter Camera (functions as a physical webcam cover,) 360-degree Far-Field Communication microphones, Wake on Voice function, and hands-free Amazon Alexa. Lenovo also announced the second generation of the ThinkVsion X1, bringing a full-screen and ultra-slim appearance in an elegant design. The display features 4K resolution and >99% sRGB color gamut, meaning users can enjoy the watching experience and Thunderbolt 3 interface. There’s also a “Motor camera” on board the display, which can be moved up and down with the push of a button. The ThinkVision X1 is set to go on sale alongside these X1 models for $799 in January 2018.
