CES 2018: HP announces Envy x2, Spectre x360, Pavilion Wave with Amazon Alexa, and more

CES 2018 kicked off today and the announcements from the annual show are just rolling in this morning. Indeed, HP today announced the Envy x2 Windows 2-in-1, Spectre x360, Pavilion Wave desktop with Amazon Alexa, and more. Here’s what you need to know about these new devices.

HP ENVY x2: (Pricing in Spring 2018)

The HP Envy X2 is an Intel variant of the previously announced model with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Processor. The devices comes with an Intel Core Y-Series processor and boats a Fanless CNC Machined Aluminum design, weighing only 1.69 pounds. Other notable features on this Windows 10 convertible are listed below.

HP Spectre x360 15: ($1,369.99, BestBuy.com/HP.com starting March 18)

HP’s Spectre x360 15 packs fast performance and powerful discrete graphics. It comes with a 4K display, and a premium design built from aluminum CNC in Dark Ash Silver with Copper Luxe accents. The device weighs 4.62 lbs and packs sleek geared hinges for seamless transitions between laptop, tablet and entertainment modes. HP also redesigned the speakers, and now sitting above the keyboard for an improved audio experience.  See other features below.

HP Spectre x360 15

HP Pavilion Wave with Amazon Alexa (Spring 2018, $549.99)

The HP Pavilion Wave is one of the first Windows 10 PCs to come with hand-free Amazon Alexa, and certainly one of the first PCs to look like a smart speaker. The device keeps the same design as the past, but now with the added benefit of voice integration for powerful experiences. Other features on the device are listed below.

  • Customers can control music, timers, alarms, smart home devices and more simply by asking Alexa while web browsing, working, or streaming content.
  • Custom LED to indicate Alexa is listening.

HP Z 3D Camera (March 2018, $599)

HP’s Z 3D Camera is built to create realistic 3D digital images from real objects by bringing the Sprout by HP experience to the PC. It’s a down facing camera that can be attached to a display to capture and digitize 3D objects, 2D documents, and live video. This minimalistic design allows for users to save desktop space and reinvent creative workflows. See below for more features on the camera.

  • Connects via USB to capture and digitize 3D objects, 2D documents and live video.
  • Allows for richer, more immediate remote live sharing by bringing into view the desk, hands, etc. to complement screen sharing, text and the webcam.

OMEN Game Stream (Spring 2018)

OMEN Game Stream is HP’s streaming service which allows gamers to play AAA games anywhere and anytime. The service is meant to use the power of an OMEN PC and a high-speed internet connection. Details on the service are listed below.

  • Offered within the OMEN Command Center, gamers can now take their OMEN gaming experience with them on-the-go with their OMEN gaming PC doing all the heavy lifting by acting as a cloud gaming server.
  • Gamers can connect to their OMEN PC and play games that are well beyond the hardware specifications of the connecting device for an incredible cloud gaming experience.

OMEN Game Stream

Definitely some exciting devices here, joining the many already announced at CES 2018. As a reminder, Dell recently unveiled a reimagined XPS 13, and Lenovo detailed updates to their mainstream ThinkPad X, T, and L series lineup.
