Following the much-anticipated releases of Electronic Arts’ Battlefield 1 and Titanfall 2 games over the last two weeks, Activision’s Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is the latest blockbuster shooter to be released today on the Xbox One, Playstation 4 and Windows. The futuristic shooter has been developed by American studio Infinity Ward, which last work for the popular franchise was Call of Duty: Ghosts back in 2013.
Here is the official description of the new episode:
Infinite Warfare delivers three unique game modes: Campaign, Multiplayer, and Zombies. In Campaign, players play as Captain Reyes, a pilot turned Commander, who must lead the remaining coalition forces against a relentless, fanatical enemy, while trying to overcome the deadly, extreme environments of space. Multiplayer combines a fluid momentum based movement system, player focused map design, deep customization, and a brand new combat rig system to create an intense gameplay experience where every second counts. In Zombies, go back in time to fight the undead in a 1980s amusement park, complete with a plethora of rides, an awesome arcade, and a funky, functioning rollercoaster.
The game is available in three different Editions:
- Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare – Launch Edition ($59.99) which includes the game plus the Terminal Bonus Map and Spaceland Pack.
- Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare – Digital Deluxe Edition ($99.99), a premium bundle which includes the game and its Season Pass plus a remastered version of the critically-acclaimed Call of Duty: Modern Warfare released by Infinity Ward back in 2007.
So far, early reviews of the game have been positive and the title currently earns a 81 score on review aggregator Metacritic. While Call of Duty games are usually huge sellers, we can’t wait to see how the game will perform considering that both Battlefield 1 and Titanfall 2 have been leading the shooter narrative over the last few weeks.
