Today at Microsoft’s largest developer conference, BUILD 2019, the company referenced a new feature coming to the Outlook app for mobile devices.

\n

As part of a Spring roll out, Outlook Mobile users will now gain access to Actionable Messages with Adaptive Cards on both Android and iOS devices.

\n

Technically, Actionable Messages with Adaptive Cards has been rolled out to some iOS users, but by the end Spring both smartphone platforms should have the new feature powered by Microsoft sync technology, on their devices.

\n

Actionable Messages with Adaptive Cards will allow users to do in-line follow-ups from messages with action items in the Outlook app without ever having to depart the app.

\n

The Adaptive Cards element of the new feature is dependant on the developers who support the new element, hence Microsoft’s announcement at BUILD 2019.

\n

Thus far, Microsoft’s own SharePoint service, Word and MyAnalytics to Sage, ServiceNow, and Survey Monkey have development in the works to support Outlook’s new Actionable Messages.
