Nokia Lumia 630 and 635 come with a new SensorCore technology which can help users monitor their movement in real-time without draining the battery. The company even released the SensorCore SDK, giving developers the ability to explore this new feature, and design Windows Phone 8.1 apps which can make use of this technology. Recently, Microsoft updated Bing Health & Fitness app, and brings pedometer capabilities to the newly announced Nokia Lumia 630 and 635.

Now, you’ll be able to monitor several fitness-related metrics using your new Lumia 630 and 635, including the steps walked, distance traveled, and the number of calories burnt during the day. Basically, it acts as a fitness tracker in your pocket, without using too much battery. In addition, you also get the ability to track their progress for defined goals during the day/week/month.

“Today we are taking it a step further by adding a pedometer capability to the app, which will first ship with the Lumia 630 and 635. What this means is that your phone in your pocket can identify and continuously count all the steps that you have taken during the day, the calories burned and distance traveled. You can now analyze your activity and even track your goal progress over a day, week or month. Thus, with the new Bing Health & Fitness app, your phone doubles as a fitness tracker,” says Arun Das, Senior Program Manager, Health & Fitness Team.

If you’re rocking a Lumia 630 or Lumia 635, update Bing Health & Fitness app, and keep track of your fitness.
