Bing Desktop for Windows updated with customization and sharing options

For those that did not know, Bing Desktop is a cool little desktop application that allows you to automatically change your desktop wallpaper to the latest Bing.com image. Microsoft has rolled out an update to Bing Desktop, now making it easier to customize and share the homepage images from Bing.

“Over 10 million people have installed Bing Desktop worldwide, and based on your feedback, we’re constantly looking for ways to make the experience more useful and convenient. To that end this week, we rolled out an update that makes it easier to customize and share your favorite homepage images,” Microsoft stated in an official blog post.

You now have the option to set the categories you want to sync and the frequency with which they change, rather than automatically syncing your desktop wallpaper to the Bing homepage of the day. You can also share the homepage image you love with a simple click to Facebook or Twitter.

“Bing Desktop delivers easy access to better search results no matter what you are doing — inline while reading a doc or simply typing and clicking into an always present search box. And it provides the information you need to stay informed, from weather forecasts, to trending news to your Facebook content. You’ll get all this plus the beauty of the Bing homepage on your Windows desktop each day,” the software description reads.

This new update is available now and you can download it via the link below or grab it via Microsoft Update.
