Earlier this month, Microsoft debuted a new entry dubbed the new Bing which is set to revolutionize how users interact with the web. The company defines it as an AI-powered copilot for the web.
In a bid to continue expanding the new Bing’s capabilities, Microsoft has announced the preview release of the new Bing and Edge mobile apps. Since most people are mostly on their phones and use them to practically do everything, these capabilities are shipping to smartphones to further enhance the user experience.

Because we know 64% of searches occur on mobile phones, we are releasing all new Bing and Edge mobile apps to serve as your copilot for the web even when you are away from your desktop.
The new Bing and Edge shipping to Android and iOS features a neat capability dubbed voice access. With it, you can simply ask for directions in case you are lost in a new place, plan an itinerary and even get translations for new dialects.
The Big mobile app has also been revamped, the UI is sleek and offers a modern and enhanced experience. To initiate a chat session, tap on the Bing icon at the bottom of the screen. You’ll be able to replicate a similar experience as the one on desktop, wher you can ask questions and get answers coupled with citations.
Microsoft has also indicated that besides shipping of the new Bing mobile app, it will also be incorporating the one of the preview community’s most requested features, voice which is now avaialble on desktop as well as mobile. This will go a long way in redefining how users register prompts as well as the responses they get from Bing. What’s more, those part of the preview program can now access the new Bing experience directly from Microsoft Edge’s mobile app homepage.
In related news, Microsoft has also announced that the new Bing is now deeply integrated into Skype. “This new experience is designed to provide you with a comprehensive and creative source of information, inspiration, and answers to your questions, all through a simple chat interface,” the company added.
With the new Bing deeply integrated into Skype, the chat experience has been elevated. Users can use the tool to make inquiries, generate ideas, and finally to define how you’d prefer your answers to be presented. If you want to present your idea in bullet points, text, or whichever way, Bing will accommodate your needs and tailor your response based on your specifications.
