Bill Gates

Forbes has released their rankings of the richest people in the world, as of March 2013, and Bill Gates comes in second place with a net worth of $67 billion dollars. While the first place lead went to Carlos Slim Helu, who has held the rank for four years in a row, has a net worth of $73 billion dollars.

While Bill Gates may not be the number one richest guy in the world, he is still amazing rich and is also considered the “world’s most generous person.” Since Bill Gates devotes the majority of his time to his foundation (Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation), in an attempt to rid the world of polio and other deseases, and has given more than $28 billion to this cause, Bill Gates is considered the world’s most generous person. “Bill Gates, the world’s most generous person, says that as long as he helps eradicate deadly diseases like polio and malaria, he doesn’t care if he’s forgotten after his death,” Forbes mentions. Gates saw an increase in his net worth over the past year, while having no help from the company he co-founded, Microsoft. Gates’ fortune is spread across private equity, bonds, and stocks from various companies. So what’s left for Bill Gates? According to him, “Don’t die!”
