Bethesda marks October 23rd as “the day the bombs fell” in the Fallout universe. As part of Bethesda’s Fallout Bombs Drop Event, Xbox Live Gold subscribers can play Fallout 76 free from October 20th to October 26th, 2020. Fallout 76 is already available for free as part of an Xbox Game Pass subscription.

In addition to the base game experience, Xbox Live Gold subscribers will also be able to play Fallout 76’s DLC content for free too, including Wastelanders and Nuclear Winter. During the event, players will also benefit from getting double XP in all games modes, and deep discounts on special Fallout 76 game bundles via Xbox Wire.

Bombs Drop Weekend starts this Thursday October 22nd and runs through the 26th!

Bethesda is using this special Bombs Drop Event to promote the Fallout 1st premium membership, a $99 yearly subscription that “enhances the Fallout 76 experience.” With the Fallout 1st membership, members receive access to “Private Worlds, exclusive utility and cosmetic items, 1650 Atoms per month, plus other bonuses.”

You can find the free Fallout 1st Limited Preview item in the Atomic Shop, where you will be able to get a taste of what the Fallout 1st membership offers.

“This trial will give you allow you to use the Scrapbox (which will need to be claimed separately through the Fallout 1st section of the Atomic Shop in order to build it in your C.A.M.P.) and Survival Tent. Just like for full Fallout 1st members, the Scrapbox will give you unlimited storage for your crafting components, and the Survival Tent operates as a placeable fast travel point with a Stash, Sleeping Bag, Scrapbox, Instrument and Cooking Station. (The Survival Tent will be located in your Favorites wheel after you activate your preview).”

As part of the Bombs Drop Event, you will also get a couple of other bonus items, including this month’s free in-game items for Fallout 1st subscribers, including the Mechanic’s Wallpaper and Mechanic’s Floor and Foundation.
