BBM Beta update fixes slow initial start-up, and its first impression

BBM Beta for Windows Phone has been updated to fix the issue of the slow initial launch on a fresh install, and will be hitting the stable app soon. We are surprised that it took them this long to fix, as it was ruining the first impression the app made on consumers.

If you are unfamiliar with BBM, it is the messenger app from BlackBerry. If you are not familiar with Blackberry, it was a hugely successful, business-oriented mobile phone OEM. But, as they say, the bigger you are, the harder you fall. And BlackBerry fell hard to the iPhone. Since then, they have attempted to embrace the touch-screen smartphone and modern mobile practices. One of those steps has been to publish BBM, their immensely popular messaging platform, to every major mobile ecosystem (used to be exclusive to BlackBerry devices).

While it still doesn’t give much incentive to new users, those of you that are fans should try the Beta version of the app (download link below). Mobile beta apps are on the most part stable, and offer the newest fixes and features.
