Since the Xbox One’s inception, fans of the gaming console have voted en masse for the addition of background music – a much-loved feature from the Xbox 360-era, where music being played in an app can continue to be played in the background whilst completing another task on the console, such as playing a game.

As part of the Windows 10 Anniversary Update, background music will also be arriving. When the update rolls out to the public on August 2nd, every player on Xbox One will be able to play music in the background.

This has been one of the most asked for features for the Xbox One, with it receiving nearly 25,000 votes on Microsoft’s UserVoice page for Xbox. The day is nearly upon us.
