Apple TV To Get Support For More Xbox Controllers With TvOS 14 Update – onmsft.com

During Apple’s WWDC 2020 conference, Apple announced that their Apple TV streaming boxes would be gaining support for Microsoft’s Xbox Adaptive Controller and the Xbox Elite Controller Series 2 in the new tvOS 14 operating system update coming later this year.

Apple TVs already support regular Xbox-branded video game controllers for playing video games on the platform.

While this added support may seem odd to the casual Apple TV owner who may not play that many video games, it’s important to remember that the Xbox Game Streaming (Project xCloud) app is already being tested for iOS devices and that it will likely become available for Apple TVs too. Once it does, Xbox controllers will be getting a lot more usage by Apple TV owners.

Do you use Xbox controllers with your Apple TV or are you waiting for something like Project xCloud to rollout? Share your thoughts with the community in the comments below and then follow us on Pinterest and Twitter for more Xbox gaming news.
