Apple has hired a former Microsoft Executive, Francois Daumard, to head the iPhone and iPad channel development. Dumard, who joined Apple in May, is responsible for recruiting and enabling Channel Partners that want to “deploy Mobility Solutions on Apple devices (iPhone & iPad).”

According to Daumard’s LinkedIn profile, Daumard spent almost 12 years in various roles while working at Microsoft. Daumard managed a marketing campaign infrastructure for Microsoft’s French subsidiary. Daumard was also a product manager and developed a product roadmap for a sales and marketing application used to support growth in SMB markets worldwide.

Daumard also was the senior alliance and channel manager for the HP and Microsoft alliance. Daumard then became a senior manager for Microsoft’s Distribution Channel Marketing department and recruited 13,000 to the program within the first 18 months.

Daumard eventually became a senior manager in the Distribution Channel Marketing department at Microsoft and led the company’s marketing and strategy for several cloud initiatives.

Apple now has a well experienced former-Microsoft executive on their hands. Lets see if they put him to good use.
